We have been producing raw dog food and cat food since 2004 and can confidently say we were one of the first to deal with raw pet foods. So, it’s safe to say that we know what we’re talking about. Our founder Nettie started producing the food to aid her Boxer dog Fred who had become poorly. Once people started finding out about what Nettie was doing for Fred, they wanted her to help their pets with a ‘prevention rather than cure’ approach.

What Makes Nurturing by Nature Different?
We make our food in-house and we have full control on where the food is originally sourced. Furthermore, we make human-grade food, this means suitable for human consumption and we ensure that the food is produced to the highest possible standard. This is supported by our APHA license as proof of this.
APHA stands for Animal & Plant Health Agency and they work to safeguard animal and plant health for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy. APHA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, the Welsh Government, and The Scottish Government.
Nurturing by Nature has quarterly inspections by APHA to ensure our standards remain consistently high.
As touched upon above, we are in full control of where we source our products from and we visit our suppliers to ensure that they are sustainable and ethically responsible.
Something that we believe you cannot put a price on is health. We hear, time and time again, that our customer’s pets are healthier than they have ever been after they made the move to feeding raw rather than the kibbles and artificial treats they had been feeding previously. This means less expensive trips to the vets and far less teeth cleaning. Their pet’s weight control is better and in most cases their temperaments improve. The list of positive changes you can expect when you start feeding raw is long and quite exhaustive.
We hold our values and integrity to the highest standards and this is something that we simply will not allow to falter. This also follows through to every staff member we employ.
Our team is unique in the sense that everyone from office staff, production teams and delivery drivers has a say in business and how it is run. We actively encourage them to voice their opinions and help the decision makers to make the business what it is today.
