Chicken drum sticks – the darker side of chicken!

Why should your dog eat them? Because they enjoy them!

Raw Feeding Standards of quality

Imagine the sight of your dog tackling a chicken drumstick, their natural instincts kicking in, joy and satisfaction in every bite. It's not just about the taste; it's a fulfilling challenge, especially for the smaller breeds who relish the effort, and a quick, gratifying snack for the larger ones. Here's why chicken drumsticks are a staple in the raw feeding world:

  • Rich in Nutrients: Dark meat surpasses white in its iron, zinc, riboflavin, thiamine, and vitamins B6 and B12 content, offering a nutritious boost with less fat than many red meat cuts.

  • A Dental Exercise: For little dogs, the bone provides a delightful challenge, promoting dental health as they gnaw. What they can't finish can be safely stored for a future meal, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

  • Digestibility: The bones, soft yet engaging, are easily digested by dogs accustomed to a raw diet, making them a safe and satisfying option.

They can be eaten by almost any dog. Little dogs will have a hearty meal to get their teeth into. The bone is big enough to give them a bit of a challenge. What they don’t eat on the first day can be refrigerated and offered again the next day.

Larger breeds may consume them quite quickly with just a couple of crunches and a swallow. The bones are quite soft and are easily digested by most raw fed dogs and they will not have any problem digesting them, even if consumed almost whole by larger breeds. (Medium sized dogs that want to gulp and swallow big bony pieces may be better candidates for chicken necks, thighs, and wings.)

The Hidden Gem: Bone Marrow

Within the core of each bone lies a treasure trove of bone marrow, dense in calories and packed with fat, protein, vitamin B12, riboflavin, collagen, and conjugated linoleic acid. It's a superfood, offering:

  • Vital Nutrients: Supporting overall health and vitality.

  • Glossy Coats: Anecdotes from happy pet owners highlight the visible benefits, like shiny coats, attributing them to the rich diet provided by raw feeding.

"Easy to defrost and serve. Our dog devours her food at dinner time and her coat is really shiny." Trusted Customer - Feefo
